This study explores a first approach to the study of pre-built instruments in international contexts and adapting to the culture of Latin America for the measurement of cognitive strategies of emotional regulation and Burnout in nursing professionals in the area of Paraguay. To do this we proceeded to the adaptation and validation of measuring instruments Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire CERQ of Dutch origin (Garnefski, Spinhoven and Kraaij, 2001), translated into Spanish by Dominguez-Sanchez, et al (2013) and Questionnaire Burnout Granada CBG (De la Fuente et al 2013). Probabilistic representative nationwide sample consisted of 1017 subjects between 18 and 65 years (M = 36.4; SD = 9.4). Various analyzes were performed; including exploratory factor analysis as a basis for the completion of confirmatory factor analysis CERQ (AFC with nine second-order factors included) and CBG (AFC with three factors). The CERQ values presented adequate reliability and validity evidence; while the CBG has values that encourage applications continue to conduct further studies to optimize and thoroughly test the new distribution of the items in each factor obtained in the Paraguayan population unlike the original study.
