Abstract

LCPI v2.2 is a new multi-item multi scale self-report measure for the combined assessment of mental disorders and some aspects of functioning (relevant in the context of personality assessment in clinical and non-clinical settings). The initial item pool of the LCPI was developed, based both on the DSM-5 criteria (for selected mental disorders and PDs) and on criteria selected (by the LCPI working group and their consultants) from the ICF Core sets for depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. LCPI v2.2 include 9 clinical scales: Anxiety Disorder, General Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Alcohol problems, Drug problems, Psychotic symptoms, Eating disorders, Somatic Symptoms; 32 pathological personality trait scales (developed based on expanded DSM-5 Trait Model): Emotional Lability, Histrionism, Anxiousness, Separation Insecurity, Depressivity, Submissiveness, Hostility, Low Self-esteem, Vulnerability, Withdrawal, Intimacy Avoidance, Restricted Affectivity, Anhedonia, Manipulativeness, Deceitfulness, Grandiosity, Will to Power, Attention Seeking, Callousness, Aggression, Irresponsibility, Impulsivity, Risk Taking, Distractibility, Perfectionism, Rigidity, Orderliness, Perseveration, Unusual Beliefs and Experiences, Cognitive and Perceptual Dysregulation, Eccentricity, Suspiciousness and Self-harm; and 10 Functioning scales: Sleep Problems, Concentration Problems, Fatigue/Energy Level, Psychomotor Disturbances, Appetite, Starting and Sustaining Conversation, Decision Making and Problem Solving, Intimate Relationships, Communication Problems, Social Support. Additionally there are several validity scales: Response Consistency Scale, Lie Scale, Positive Impression and Negative Impression Scale. Our objective in the current investigation was to evaluate psychometric properties of the LCPI v2.2 scales. The sample included 548 participants aged from 18 to 82 years. Coefficient alphas, interitem correlations and item-scale relationships suggest that the LCPI v2.2 scales are internally consistent. Items for respective scales generally showed significantly higher item-scale correlations with their intended scale (as compared with their item-scale correlation with scales they were not intended to measure) demonstrating the discriminant validity of scale scores. Taken together, this investigation provides initial support for the acceptable psychometric properties of the LCPI v.2.2.
